futures
Vital Futures is a new campus-wide initiative that aims to catalyze global health humanities and social medicine research infrastructures at Duke and with Duke’s global partners. Launched in 2024, it bridges the Duke Global Health Institute and Trinity College of Arts and Sciences. The initiative’s strategic objective is to advance high-impact interpretive social sciences and humanities research on priority health problems. Its name, “Vital Futures,” conveys its vision that studying human experiences, cultures, and creations can ultimately help secure healthy futures for all.
